The cord is extremely solid. I still need to see how it will be mounted in the dispenser and it will likely be packed that way. Of course, you can also use it without the dispenser :)

The Nano Cord survival rope is produced in the USA using UHMW polyethylene (Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene). This material allows for more than double the maximum load capacity, while the rope does not stretch even when loaded. Furthermore, Dyna X repels water and remains buoyant.
