Alpinus Kiruna Women's Jacket - Brown
Women's down jacket in brown, designed for wear during the transitional season - in autumn, spring, and during a mild winter. It combines a natural duck down filling, a wind-shielding construction, and practical solutions that work well both in the field and for everyday use.
The lightweight, quilted construction supports wearing comfort, while the three-dimensional structure of the down retains warmed air inside the chambers, helping maintain proper thermal comfort. The Kiruna model protects against the cold and effectively reduces wind penetration. The slightly fitted cut subtly accentuates the silhouette.
Rip-Stop nylon with DWR coating, smooth lining
The outer layer is made of 100% Rip-Stop nylon. The characteristic grid structure reinforces the fabric and reduces the risk of any damage spreading further. The material limits the penetration of cold wind, thereby supporting the thermal insulation properties of the natural down during outdoor activity.
The outer fabric has been coated with DWR, which increases its hydrophobic properties. Water droplets run off the surface of the material, instead of immediately soaking into its structure. The coating helps protect the jacket from light rain, drizzle, morning dew, and moisture.
The inside of the jacket is finished with a 400T nylon lining, also coated with DWR. The smooth surface enhances wearing comfort and makes it easier to put the jacket on over an additional layer of clothing.
Natural down filling
Insulation is provided by natural duck down in a 90/10 ratio - 90% down and 10% feathers. The down creates a three-dimensional structure that retains warmed air and limits its exchange with the cold surroundings. As a result, the jacket provides effective protection against heat loss while maintaining a relatively low weight.
The insulation with a grammage of 148 g/m2 is distributed in chambers created by horizontal quilting. This solution helps keep the down in the right place and limits its shifting during use. Even distribution of the insulation translates into stable thermal properties across the entire torso and sleeves.
Thoughtful pocket layout
The Kiruna model has a total of 5 pockets:
- 2 side outer zippered pockets
- 1 vertical chest pocket with a zipper
- 2 open inner pockets
The side pockets are lined with soft microfleece. They work well for warming your hands or carrying small items such as keys, a phone, or documents.
The vertical chest pocket provides quick access to the most frequently used accessories. The inner pockets offer extra space for a hat, gloves, a phone, or other lightweight gear.
zipper, integrated hood
The jacket is equipped with an integrated hood with a shaped visor that shields the head, forehead, and face from the cold and light precipitation. Thanks to the adjustment with cord locks, its circumference can be fitted to the head and the inflow of cold air can be limited during windy weather.
At the front, there is a SBS main zipper running from the bottom edge of the jacket up to the high collar. The zipper features a chin guard protecting the chin from contact with the slider and a puller that makes operation easier while wearing gloves. When fully zipped up, the raised collar and hood create additional protection for the neck and head against the cold and wind gusts.
Bottom hem adjustment, relaxed fit
The bottom edge of the jacket is equipped with a drawcord with cord locks. This solution allows the circumference to be adjusted to the figure and helps reduce drafts from below.
The cut of the Kiruna model was developed to provide comfort during activity. The quilted construction adapts to the silhouette while also allowing full freedom of movement.

Alpinus is a European outdoor brand with a rich history, founded in 1990 by outstanding Himalayan climbers – Artur Hajzer, Janusz Majer, and Ryszard Warecki. From the very beginning, its mission was to create reliable clothing and gear for people who actively spend time outdoors. As one of the pioneering brands in Poland, Alpinus introduced clothing with a Gore-Tex membrane into its offer, setting new quality standards. After a period of absence, the brand returned to the market, combining its mountaineering heritage with modern technologies and an environmentally responsible approach to production. Today, it is recognized by both professionals and enthusiasts of outdoor expeditions.

DWR (Durable Water Repellency) is a durable waterproofing treatment that increases the surface tension of water and creates a hydrophobic coating on materials. It protects the material from rapid soaking, improves drying, provides stain resistance and increases breathability.
SBS zippers are high-quality zippers commonly used in clothing and accessories, manufactured by SBS Zipper- one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers.
Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.
