Alpinus Kiruna Jacket - Navy Blue
Down jacket in navy blue, designed for wear during the transition season - in autumn, spring, and during a mild winter. It combines natural duck down filling, a construction that limits the effects of wind, and practical solutions useful both in the field and for everyday use.
The lightweight, quilted construction increases wearing comfort, while the three-dimensional structure of the down retains warmed air inside the chambers, helping maintain proper thermal comfort. The Kiruna model protects against the cold and effectively reduces wind penetration.
Rip-stop nylon with DWR coating, smooth lining
The outer layer is made of 100% Rip-Stop nylon. The characteristic checkered weave reinforces the material and reduces the risk of any damage spreading further. The fabric limits the penetration of cold wind, supporting the thermal insulation properties of the natural down during field use.
The outer fabric has been coated with DWR, which increases its hydrophobic properties. Water droplets run off the surface of the material, instead of immediately soaking into its structure. The coating supports protection of the jacket against light rain, drizzle, morning dew, and moisture.
The inside of the jacket is finished with a 400T nylon lining, also coated with DWR. The smooth surface increases wearing comfort and makes it easier to put the jacket on over an additional layer of clothing.
Natural down filling
Insulation is provided by natural duck down in a 90/10 ratio - 90% down and 10% feathers. The down creates a three-dimensional structure that retains warmed air and limits its exchange with the cold surroundings. As a result, the jacket provides effective protection against heat loss while maintaining relatively low weight.
The insulation with a grammage of 175 g/m2 is distributed in chambers created by horizontal quilting. This solution helps keep the down in the right place and limits its shifting during wear. Even distribution of the insulation ensures stable thermal properties across the entire torso and sleeves.
Thoughtful pocket layout
The Kiruna model is equipped with a total of 5 pockets:
- 2 side outer zippered pockets
- 1 vertical chest pocket with a zipper
- 2 open inner pockets
The side pockets are lined with soft microfleece. They work well for warming your hands or carrying small items such as keys, a phone, or documents.
The vertical chest pocket provides quick access to the most frequently used accessories. The inner pockets offer additional space for a cap, gloves, a phone, or other lightweight equipment.
zipper, integrated hood
The jacket is equipped with an integrated hood with a shaped visor that protects the head, forehead, and face from the cold and light precipitation. Thanks to the adjustment with stoppers, its circumference can be fitted to the head and the inflow of cold air can be reduced in windy weather.
At the front there is a main SBS zipper running from the lower edge of the jacket to the high collar. The zipper features a chin guard flap to protect the chin from contact with the slider and a puller that makes it easier to operate while wearing gloves. When fully zipped up, the raised collar and hood create additional protection for the neck and head against the cold and gusts of wind.
Adjustable bottom hem, relaxed fit
The bottom edge of the jacket is equipped with a drawstring with stoppers. This solution allows the circumference to be adjusted to the silhouette and helps limit drafts from below.
The cut of the Kiruna model was developed with comfort during activity in mind. The quilted construction adapts to the silhouette while ensuring full freedom of movement.

Alpinus is a European outdoor brand with a rich history, founded in 1990 by outstanding Himalayan climbers – Artur Hajzer, Janusz Majer, and Ryszard Warecki. From the very beginning, its mission was to create reliable clothing and gear for people who actively spend time outdoors. As one of the pioneering brands in Poland, Alpinus introduced clothing with a Gore-Tex membrane into its offer, setting new quality standards. After a period of absence, the brand returned to the market, combining its mountaineering heritage with modern technologies and an environmentally responsible approach to production. Today, it is recognized by both professionals and enthusiasts of outdoor expeditions.

DWR (Durable Water Repellency) is a durable waterproofing treatment that increases the surface tension of water and creates a hydrophobic coating on materials. It protects the material from rapid soaking, improves drying, provides stain resistance and increases breathability.
SBS zippers are high-quality zippers commonly used in clothing and accessories, manufactured by SBS Zipper- one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers.
Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.
