When hearing the name Zeppelin, most people think of two things – the legendary airship, or rather the entire line of them, and the equally unique 70s rock band – Led Zeppelin. However, since 2002, the increasingly popular brand of automatic watches, Zeppelin, can be added to this group. These are retro-style timepieces, reminiscent of aviation watches, which remain fashionable, look great, and are equipped with very modern mechanisms hidden beneath their classic appearance.

An automatic Zeppelin watch is primarily about a commitment to traditional design, inspired by one of the most interesting (albeit short) eras in aviation history. Flying cigars, as they were colloquially called, did not conquer the skies, losing the battle to faster and more maneuverable biplanes. However, even today, the sight of an airship in the sky stirs the imagination, as they were true giants of the sky at the time, dominating any object they approached. Quartz models are based on the well-known Ronda and ETA mechanisms among watch enthusiasts, while mechanical ones use Japanese components from the Miyota and Seiko families. It is also worth noting that German Zeppelin watches are not just German in name. The factory is located in Germany, and the watches mostly consist of components produced in Europe. What stands out in German Zeppelin watches is the excellent quality control conducted on-site, right after the timepieces are manufactured, and the reliability of the components used, which serve the user for a very long time without failure.

In an automatic Zeppelin watch, you will find hesalite glass on the dial, polished in a semi-circular cut, reminiscent of retro style.
