When looking for backpacks over 35 liters, you need to pay attention to several important things that will allow you to choose the right model for your activities. Here we will initially divide the purpose of backpacks according to their liters, in order to give a general idea of their size and purpose. The first are backpacks with a hiking purpose - from 30 to 50 liters. This dimension hooks a bit on the urban backpack, as 30-40 liters is a value versatile enough to be used against both uses - it will work very well in the city, but you can also take it on a day trip. Between 40 and 50 liters you can easily fit gear for more than one night in the woods or a sizable shopping trip. It is in this liter range that there is the greatest variety of models due to their universal size. Next we have backpacks from 40 to 90 liters - with their help you will pack for a longer expedition or vacation. They are much larger than everyday backpacks, so you should be able to take your essentials with you even for a week-long trip - the secret to success is to compress your clothes properly and think carefully about the things you take with you. The largest in this category are expedition backpacks with a capacity of 90 to 120 liters. These are the largest models available for carrying on your back and are designed to stand up to the harshest conditions - popular with soldiers going on survival training, mountain hikers and those who travel huge distances on foot - so-called Backpackers. You'll fit virtually everything you need on the road here, and it will allow you to carry items for several weeks of travel.

The advantage of backpacks over 35 liters with a military-tactical purpose is the modern solutions that have been used in their production. The most common amenity is the molle system, i.e. the ability to retrofit additional pockets to increase the liters of the backpack. These are horizontal straps sewn onto the backpack, and by purchasing a pocket with such a mounting standard, you can easily attach bottle bags, jackets, organizers or first-aid kits to the outside, adapting your backpack to the needs of a given expedition. An additional feature you should pay attention to when choosing one is the issue of a camelback - on long hikes, stopping to hydrate is inconvenient and time-consuming. Most of the better hiking backpacks have a dedicated pocket for the camelback, which is nothing more than a several-liter water container connected to a hose that attaches to your shoulder to allow you to drink water on longer trips without removing the backpack. This is a solution dedicated especially to long hikes, where frequent taking off and putting on a heavy backpack is inconvenient, sometimes even annoying. The last important element is the frame and hip belts. Backpacks over 35 liters should be equipped with comfortable racks on the back to evenly distribute the weight - carrying tens of kilograms is not an easy task, and such a rack can greatly improve the comfort of the trip. An additional stress reliever are comfortable hip belts - often the thicker, the better - by fastening ourselves with them at the waist and properly tightening the straps, the weight will be distributed and supported by our hips, thus drastically reducing the perceived weight of the gear we carry. The material from which the backpack is sewn is also important. Cheaper models are made of polyester, which is the standard material for the production of this type of equipment. More expensive models are already made of cordura, an extremely durable nylon resistant to abrasion and any other mechanical damage. The forerunner of the use of this material in Poland is the Wisport company, which specializes in the production of high-quality backpacks with miltarno-tactical purpose. There are a few more aspects you should take into account, it all depends on what tasks you need to buy a new backpack for. It is a good idea to pay attention to the weight of a particular model, for those traveling in the mountains - whether there is a system for attaching trekking poles to the outside, etc.
