Kershaw

The Kershaw brand was founded in 1974 in Portland, Oregon, United States. Its founder was Pete Kershaw, who previously worked at Gerber Legendary Blades. He decided to become independent and started producing tools based on his own designs and high-quality standards.

From the beginning, the company emphasized the functionality, durability, and reliability of its products. Initially, production took place mainly in Japan, in the city of Seki, known for its blade-making tradition. In 1977, Kershaw became part of the Japanese Kai group, which allowed for further technological development and expansion into international markets.

Development and Innovation

In the 1990s, the brand opened its own factory in Wilsonville, Oregon, and then moved production to a larger facility in Tualatin. Kershaw is known for introducing innovative solutions, such as the patented SpeedSafe® assisted opening mechanism.
