Antonini (A.E. Coltellerie srl) is an Italian knife manufacturer based in Maniago — a town in the Province of Pordenone that has been synonymous with knife, blade, and cutting tool production since the Middle Ages. The company has been operating since 1925 and for over a century has remained family-owned, preserving the unbroken craft heritage of this exceptional region. Every Antonini knife is hand-assembled, finished, and sharpened at the Maniago facility, with the regional hallmark and "Made in Italy" designation serving as a guarantee of authenticity, material quality, and superior craftsmanship.

Old Bear – a pocket classic from an Italian workshop

The Old Bear series is a line of folding pocket knives with a clean, ergonomic profile and natural handles crafted from walnut, olive wood, or laminated wood. The AISI 420 steel blade, hardened to HRC 54/56, is secured by a patented twist-lock mechanism — a brass locking ring that holds the blade firmly in both the open and closed positions. This mechanism, protected by patent since 1985, sets the Old Bear apart from standard slipjoint knives and provides added user safety during demanding tasks. Old Bear is available in sizes from S to XL with blade lengths ranging from 7 to 10 cm. The most exclusive edition features Japanese San Mai 67 VG10 steel with 67-layer Damascus and is released in numbered batches of 60 pieces — a collector's choice combining Italian craftsmanship with Japanese metallurgy.

The SOS Line – rescue tools for emergency services

Beyond its classic knife-making heritage, Antonini developed the SOS (Search & Rescue) series in collaboration with the Italian fire service, civil defense, and the Red Cross. SOS knives are equipped with three essential rescue tools: a sharp cutting tip, a seatbelt cutter hook, and a window breaker — a complete emergency kit in one compact tool. The ergonomic handle delivers a secure grip even in wet and slippery rescue conditions, while the robust construction ensures reliability when every second counts.

Working, agricultural, and multi-purpose knives

Antonini's broad product range also includes working knives tailored to specific trades and applications. Agricultural knives with hawkbill and pruning blades for trimming vines and branches, stainless steel sailing knives resistant to saltwater, electrician and cable installer knives with insulated blades, and classic everyday carry pocket knives. Antonini produces around 300,000 blades per year while maintaining a high degree of hand-finishing at that scale of production. A lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship rounds out the quality standard backed by generations of Antonini family tradition.

Collecting and the heritage of the Maniago region

Maniago is one of the few European regions to have maintained a living tradition of knife-making craft continuously from the medieval period to the present day. As one of the standard-bearers of this tradition, Antonini plays an active role in the region's cultural heritage and its ongoing preservation. For knife collectors and enthusiasts of Italian craftsmanship, every Antonini knife is more than a functional tool — it is a piece of history from a region that gave the world one of the richest knife-making traditions in Europe.
