Altama is an American brand of military and tactical footwear, known primarily for its combat boots made for the US armed forces and uniformed services. The brand was established in 1969 in Darien, Georgia. Initially, Altama produced children's footwear but quickly shifted to military boots in response to government demand during the Vietnam War. At that time, it became famous for olive "jungle boots" designed for extremely humid, tropical climates.
