Kel-Met Chain Training Handcuffs Inox
Kel-Met Inox chain handcuffs – training version are a specialized model designed for training law enforcement officers and security personnel. Featuring a pin located next to the keyhole, they allow fast release of the lock without a key, enabling safe and effective practice of restraint, escort, and release techniques. Their design matches standard operational handcuffs to simulate realistic tactical scenarios while reducing injury risk and maintaining control during training.
Stainless steel construction
Crafted from stainless steel compliant with PN‑EN 10088‑1. The material is non‑toxic, highly resistant to mechanical damage, and hypoallergenic. No galvanic coatings such as nickel or zinc ensure compliance with EU directive 76/769/EEC‑94/27/EEC for skin-contact products and national regulations.
Design and operating mechanism
The set consists of two wrist cuffs connected by a chain-link chain attached with rotating connectors. The cuff design minimizes the risk of abrasions and injuries during use. The restrained person can easily self-release by pulling the unlocking pin, which is valuable during training.
The cuffs are built with steel, featuring a double-pawl locking mechanism and a movable ratchet arm. Each cuff includes a ratchet lock that can be locked in any position to prevent over-tightening. Accidental-opening protection is activated by a pin on the key: pressing it locks the cuff, and turning the key releases it.
Strength requirements
The handcuffs withstand static forces:
- 2300 N tearing force – applied in-plane to one cuff, with the other secured; full functionality is retained after force.
- 500 N bending force – applied perpendicular to the cuff on the side opposite the connection, without permanent deformation.
Standards and certifications
Kel-Met handcuffs comply with:
- PN‑EN 10088‑1 – stainless-steel properties standard.
- 76/769/EEC‑94/27/EEC – EU directive on absence of heavy metal coatings; no nickel or zinc.
