Helikon-Tex Mesh Cap with Peak and Velcro - US Woodland

Breathable cap with a mesh construction and a profiled visor in US Woodland camouflage, made of 100% polyester and complemented with 3 velcro panels, which allow you to attach any patches and emblems. A hook-and-loop strap at the back allows the size to be adjusted to the head circumference, and the Helikon-Tex logo is located on the front. The velcro panels let you personalize the cap and give it an individual character.

Mesh construction

The cap features a mesh panel construction that ensures high breathability. It is made of 100% polyester, which is lightweight, durable, and resistant to intensive use. The material performs well during outdoor activities, especially in warmer conditions.

3 velcro panels, adjustable circumference

A hook-and-loop strap is placed at the back of the cap, allowing the size to be adjusted to the head circumference. The model is equipped with 3 velcro panels, allowing any patches and emblems to be attached and giving it an individual character. The front panel measures 9 x 5 cm, the top panel 6 x 5.5 cm, and the rear panel 4.5 x 4 cm. An additional velcro panel measuring 8 x 2.5 cm is located on the adjustment strap. A chameleon, the symbol of Helikon-Tex, is embroidered on the front velcro panel.

Woodland camouflage

Woodland, also referred to as US Woodland or M81, is a classic camouflage introduced into the U.S. armed forces in the early 1980s, based on the earlier ERDL pattern. For more than twenty years, it was the standard camouflage used by the U.S. Army, until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. It is distinguished by large, irregular patches in shades of green, brown, beige, and black, which provide good concealment and shape-disrupting properties, especially in forest terrain. Thanks to its high effectiveness and global recognizability, it has seen many variants that were adopted by more than 60 uniformed formations around the world. This pattern also had a strong influence on pop culture, moving from military use into everyday fashion.

    I am not satisfied – the cap is made from exceptionally rough material and is shallow, even though the photo suggests otherwise. It's better to buy an original New Era for a similar price.

    The cap is great and I have been using it for years, but it has one flaw. If someone is bald, the seams of the cap leave marks that are not tanned, so you get stripes on your head like a pizza 😂. A thin lining would be useful. Other than that, it's excellent.

    My head sweats a lot and on all my caps I immediately get salt stains at the front. Here, the mesh provides good ventilation, and even when the inner sweatband gets soaked, there are no visible salt stains. The only downside is that the mesh has no reinforcement – so the top of the cap doesn't hold its shape (it ends up a bit flat on top). Definitely satisfied, it's practical and it looks like it will withstand rougher handling – I can recommend it.
