Exped Ultra R3 M Single Mattress

A lightweight model measuring 183 x 52 cm and 7 cm thick, it is ideal for trekking, biking, mountain camping or long-distance backpacking.

The model features a thermal insulation coefficient of R-Value 2.9, determined in accordance with the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter defines the level of insulation from the ground - the higher the value, the more effective the reduction of heat loss.

R-Value interpretation used in the outdoor industry:

• 1.0-2.0 - use in summer conditions (night temperatures above approx. 10 st. C),
• 2.1-3.5 - use in spring-summer-autumn (approx. 0-10 st. C),
• 3.6-5.0 - cool conditions, around 0 st. C and sub-zero temperatures down to approx. -5 /-10 st. C,
• 5.1-7.0 - winter use, temperatures below 0 st. C,
• above 7.0 - winter conditions with increased insulation requirements.

Actual thermal comfort depends on the sleeping system (sleeping bag, clothing), ground type and the user’s individual resistance to cold.

Crafted from robust yet lightweight 20D polyester featuring Rip-Stop technology and made from recycled materials. The material's structure ensures effective protection against mechanical wear. Welded baffles prevent cold spots and offer steady, uniform support, while side reinforcements decrease the likelihood of slipping off the mattress.

The interior of the mattress features a 60 g/m2 Texpedloft insulation layer, permanently welded to the top and bottom of the air chambers. This solution guarantees a constant level of insulation during use, offering an R-Value of 2.9, which translates into thermal comfort down to -5 deg. C.

The set comes with a Schnozzel Pumpbag UL, allowing you to instantly fill the mattress with air. With two separate FlatValve valves, inflating and deflating becomes extremely easy and convenient.
