Angling clothing

Fishing, although a relaxing hobby, requires proper preparation, including the selection of appropriate clothing. Fishing clothing is a special type of clothing that provides comfort, safety and is equipped with useful features that make fishing easier. 

It is worthwhile that fishing clothes meet certain requirements. First and foremost, these items of clothing should be made of materials that provide protection against changeable and unfavourable weather conditions. Fishing trips often last for several hours, which the angler spends outdoors. Therefore, fishing clothing should be windproof and waterproof. It is advisable to choose clothing equipped with a membrane, such as GORE-TEX or Sympatex, which show very good protective properties and at the same time provide breathability. 

Clothing for fishing should be comfortable and not restrict freedom of movement. Choose garments with an ergonomic cut with elasticated inserts that adapt well to the figure. It's also worth mentioning useful pockets to hold essential accessories so they are always at hand. 

It is a good idea to wear fishing clothing in layers. Dressing in layers allows you to optimally adapt your clothing to the weather conditions. Use the standard three layers. The first layer should be thermal clothing. The second layer is a fleece, jumper or light jacket. The third layer should be waterproof fish clothing. Such a system will enable you to stay comfortable and regulate your temperature. Shoes with non-slip soles are also a good choice. 

Fishing clothes should be chosen according to the season and the specifics of the fishery. If you are fishing in summer, choose light and airy pieces of clothing to prevent overheating and sweating. Consider shorts, short-sleeved shirts or wide-brimmed fishing hats. In the colder months, opt for warm, insulating clothing. Down jackets, membrane jackets, anoraks, hardshells and insulated trousers will work well here. On cold days, it is also a good idea to equip yourself with a warm hat and fishing gloves.  

When on fishing trips, don't forget to protect yourself from UV rays and insects. Use sunscreen creams, remember your headgear and sunglasses equipped with suitable lenses. It is very important not to underestimate the importance of protection against mosquitoes and ticks. These insects carry dangerous diseases and very often live around bodies of water. Equip yourself with mosquito and tick repellent.
