The Baader Planetarium company was founded in 1966 by Claus Baader in Munich. The inspiration for its creation came from his son Thomas's questions about astronomy, which Claus Baader decided to answer by constructing an educational school planetarium with a diameter of 50 cm. Soon after, the company was established, initially specializing in the production of planetariums for educational purposes.
Development and Innovation
Since its inception, Baader Planetarium has been continuously expanding its offerings and scope of activities. The company gained recognition for producing projection domes made of fiberglass and polyester, allowing it to enter the market of professional astronomical observatories.
Baader Planetarium currently offers comprehensive solutions – from designing and building "turnkey" astronomical observatories to distributing and producing its own accessories and collaborating with the world's best manufacturers of astronomical equipment.
