The hat works well in protecting against the sun – the rays are not bothersome while wearing it. It is breathable and so light that you hardly feel it on your head. It's a bit of a pity that it doesn't have a clasp for wearing the sides in a 'cowboy' style, but that doesn't affect its functionality.

The brim of the hat is wider than it seems at first and fulfills its function well. The mesh provides great breathability, which you can't see in the photos. This is an advantage, although because of it, the hat can't be used for water filtering anymore. It's a pity that there are no snaps to lift the brim edges – it wouldn't have added much weight. After the first wash at 30 degrees, the brim stiffener wrinkled, but evenly, which actually gives it character, and the stiffener still works as it should.

The hat may not be particularly visually attractive (that's a matter of taste – personally, I'm not a fan of fishing models), but it is very light, airy, and provides excellent protection against the sun, which is its most important function. You can fold it to a small size and use it as protection against strong sunlight.
