Compound Bows
A pulley bow is a type of bow that uses a pulley system consisting of a taut cable and pulleys. This system aids string tension and facilitates accurate shooting. Compared to classic straight bows, an arrow shot from a pulley bow has more energy compared to a classic bow, with maximum string tension requiring the least physical effort from the shooter.
The characteristic intricate design of the pulley system makes it possible to adjust and adapt its characteristics to the user's requirements. The bow's string is wound on pulleys, which are cross-connected to the opposite arms of the bow. The most important features of this bow are the reduction of the required force to maintain a properly tensioned string, as well as increased speed and improved accuracy.
This type of bow is comfortable to use, so we recommend a compound bow for beginner shooters. Thanks to its very good qualities, professional advanced sports shooters also use it. The average weight of a pulley bow is about 2 kg, so regular training will strengthen the arms, and will also have a positive effect on maintaining correct posture. The weight of the bow is due to the materials used in its construction, and these can be aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, anodized duralumin type 6061 and composite materials.
Block bows show advantages over traditional models. The factors determining this advantage are: low force required to tension the string; reduced perceived vibration when the arrow is released; the bow's resistance to varying temperature and humidity; increased accuracy, repeatability and shooting range; adjustability; and increased arrow speed.
Block bows are most often used in sports and recreational activities, but can also be used in other fields after appropriate adjustments. In some countries, a hunting block bow may be approved for hunting.
