Maskpol Patrol backpack 40 l - MAPA

A patrol backpack with a 40-liter capacity, crafted from resilient and abrasion-resistant 500D Cordura.

The main compartment, featuring two flat sections, is accessible through a U-shaped, two-way zipper. This opening style allows the stiffened side panels of the backpack to unfold, offering better access to the extra cargo pockets (secured with Velcro) included.

There is a top pocket and a flat rear pocket secured with a two-way zipper. Two open side pockets provide space for carrying bottles or additional gear. A rain cover is included with the backpack.

MOLLE/PALS mounting straps cover the sides, and there's a Velcro panel on the front for attaching patches or emblems. A bungee cord and various D-rings allow for extra gear attachment.

The carrying system features comfortable, contoured suspenders with adjustable length, and includes a chest strap and a wide hip belt secured with a durable Duraflex buckle. The hip belt can be tucked away beneath the rear panel.

The Patrol model includes a hydration tube exit, sealed with a Velcro flap, and a loop for hanging a hydration reservoir.

The suspenders are lined with soft material to minimize shoulder chafing. Their precise design ensures weight is distributed evenly across the shoulders. A transport handle is situated between the suspenders. The padded, thermoformed back enhances comfort and promotes effective moisture wicking.

The set includes 3 trays with dimensions:
- 13 x 14 x 28 cm,
- 19 x 14 x 28 cm,
- 28 x 14 x 28 cm.

The camouflage pattern MAPA was crafted by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk's Faculty of Architecture and Design. He is also the author of works such as Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdansk 2015). This innovative design, backed by solid theoretical and experimental arguments, including computer analysis of numerous terrain photos, captured the attention of experts and military clothing manufacturers. In 2017, the MAPA camouflage debut at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as a camouflage pattern for the Dromader system of armor and uniforms from Maskpol, part of the Polish Armament Group. Although designed for the Territorial Defense Army, the MAPA camouflage was also considered as a potential pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, potentially replacing the wz.93 camouflage. However, it has not yet been adopted as the official camouflage pattern for the Polish Army.

Highlights of the MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant:
- 6 colors create layers resembling map contours,
- colors are optimized for activities in Central European forests,
- utilizes an illusion of three-dimensionality and anamorphosis effect,
- biomorphic shapes similar to vegetation,
- contrasting elements mimic light flashes and shadows,
- silhouette deformation through macro patterns,
- color noise replicated using micro patterns.
