This is my favorite fleece. The hood may seem a bit tight, but it allows you to put a bike helmet or combat helmet over it if you need extra head protection. After three years of use, the patches on the shoulders started to darken from the sun. Other than that, there are no major signs of wear despite intensive use (with a chest rig, in the bushes, in winter, etc.).

Helikon Alpha Hoodie Grid Fleece - Shadow Grey
The Shadow Grey polar hoodie with a two-way zipper is made from Grid Fleece material. The fabric provides effective thermal insulation in low temperatures and allows excess heat and moisture to be expelled during physical activity. The hoodie is suitable both as a layer under a softshell jacket and as a standalone covering. The back section is slightly extended to better protect the kidney area from the wind.
Grid Fleece polar, reinforcements on elbows and shoulders
The hoodie is made from Grid Fleece material, which is 100% quick-drying polyester with a grammage of 310 g/m2. Its distinctive mesh structure aids in moisture wicking, improves air circulation, and helps maintain a stable body temperature during exertion. The material is soft and pleasant to the touch, yet resistant to wear, making it suitable for both field and everyday use. Additional reinforcements on the elbows and shoulders increase durability in areas most prone to abrasion.

The polar is equipped with five zippered pockets:
- two classic hip pockets
- one chest pocket with an outlet for headphone cable
- two pockets on the sleeves, at shoulder height
velcro panels
Velcro panels (hook and loop) are sewn onto the shoulder pockets, allowing for the attachment of patches and emblems, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called morale patches. This allows the hoodie to have a personalized character.
two-way closure and YKK zippers
The hoodie features a two-way zipper that allows it to be unzipped from both the top and bottom. This design facilitates access to items worn on a belt or tactical belt, enhancing convenience in the field and during activities.

The hood has a fitted design, making it snug to the head and protective against cold. Elastic edging helps keep the hood in place during movement, and its form allows it to be worn under a helmet or additional clothing layers. The bottom of the hoodie is equipped with a drawstring, enabling circumference adjustment and helping to reduce heat loss, while the cuffs are finished with elastic trim to improve fit and protect against drafts.

Really nice fleece—softer and, in my opinion, more comfortable than a regular Alpha. It seems the size chart is a bit mixed up in the description, because I have three similar models without a hood and they are all the same size. This is already my tenth fleece from this brand. The Alpha is perfect for warmer days and as an extra layer in winter. When there was no wind, I wore this fleece at -2 degrees with a thermal shirt and was comfortable. It is lightweight and very comfortable. I’ve had a regular Alpha for two years, wash it often and see no damage, it doesn’t lose shape or fade. I consider Helikon fleeces to be among the top ones.

This is my second Helikon fleece. Previously, I had the Patriot model for colder days; this one is also warm, especially when combined with a softshell. I am 180 cm tall and weigh 103 kg, size XL fits perfectly.

Very good fleece for transitional periods, this is another model from this series that has entered my wardrobe. The pockets are comfortable and thoughtfully placed. Thanks to the Velcro panels, you can personalize the sweatshirt with your favorite patches.

The fleece is lightweight and does not have a lining. The company’s sizes run small by one size compared to m-tak. The quality of the materials and workmanship is good, but at this price it’s better to choose the classic military fleece of the same brand.

I really liked this fleece – the material is pleasant, solid, even though it’s thinner than the Liberty. It’s practical and does its job well. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too big, but it’s great that you can order and try it on.

Great fleece with interesting material and very nice pockets. After a year, I discovered an additional small pocket on the chest. For cold, windy days, it is too thin to be worn alone and requires extra protection, which is not a flaw. I was surprised that it provides less warmth than an ordinary sweatshirt from Decathlon. Not suitable for cold and wind as an outer layer. Overall, a great product for warmer days. I recommend it.

Very good fleece, I’m currently using it. It’s very comfortable and although it’s thin, it keeps you warm. Zippers work great, and the option to unzip from the bottom is very practical. Perfect as an extra layer for the classic Helikon Alpha Tactical. This model has a hood and reinforcements on the elbows and shoulders. It also seems a bit longer when worn.
