Snugpak Special Forces 2 Standard Sleeping Bag - Olive
Light, olive mummy-shaped sleeping bag, ensuring comfortable body positioning and freedom of movement during sleep. Made from innovative materials by the Snugpack brand such as Paratex Steelplate, Paratex Light, and Softie Premier. The standard version, when unfolded, reaches a length of 220 cm. The interior of the sleeping bag contains a Reflectatherm layer, reflecting body heat, which significantly improves thermal comfort.
Temperatures and usage conditions
The Special Forces 2 model is designed as a three-season sleeping bag, suitable for use in low temperatures and cooler times of the year. The temperature range for using the sleeping bag is from -12 to -7 deg. C.
Paratex Steelplate and Paratex Light material, DWR coating
The outer part of the sleeping bag is made from Paratex Steelplate material, providing high breathability, wind protection, and excellent moisture resistance thanks to the use of DWR waterproofing (Durable Water Repellency). This means that during morning frosts in the field, dew drops will settle on the sleeping bag without causing it to get soaked. The interior of the sleeping bag is made from Paratex Light material, characterized by its softness, excellent wind resistance, and breathability at the level of 12l/m2/24h. Good breathability prevents moisture build-up inside the sleeping bag, resulting from the condensation of heat generated by the body and the cool environment.
Beneath the inner layer is placed a metalized Reflectatherm fabric, which reflects the heat emitted by the body, increasing the thermal efficiency of the sleeping bag by approximately 15%. In the lower part of the sleeping bag, around the feet, there is reinforced material allowing for sleeping in footwear without the risk of damaging the sleeping bag. There are also two loops for easy hanging and airing out the sleeping bag.
Softie Premier filling
The sleeping bag is filled with Softie Premier, which ensures heat retention even in humid conditions, and its softness enhances user comfort. The specially designed fiber construction allows for both hand and machine washing of the sleeping bag when necessary.
The mummy shape was developed to minimize heat loss. Lack of traditional through stitching reduces the occurrence of so-called thermal bridges, making insulation uniform across the entire surface of the sleeping bag.
Two-way YKK zipper, adjustable hood
The sleeping bag is equipped with a two-way zipper from the renowned YKK company, placed centrally. Inside, there is a protective strip that prevents material from getting caught in the zipper and reduces heat loss. The anatomically shaped hood provides additional protection against head cooling.
Convenient transport and storage, Special Forces system
The construction allows for easy transport and storage. When folded, the sleeping bag measures 23 x 23 cm, and its weight is 1800 g. The included practical compression sack protects the sleeping bag during transport from dirt and damage.
The sleeping bag is part of the Special Forces system, allowing for connection with the Special Forces 1 model using an additional Zip Baffle strip, creating a set adapted to temperatures as low as approximately -20 deg. C.
