Helikon Vagabond Seat Pad - Coyote

A sit pad is an essential part of my kit for trips to the forest, and it sometimes comes in handy in the city, especially when it’s wet. I really appreciate the compactness of this Helikon mat; it takes up little space in the backpack or can be attached to a belt. Even though it's not thick, it increases comfort on hard surfaces and most importantly insulates very well, e.g., on concrete.

I've been using this mat for 5–6 years and it's excellent! Some people suggest it could be bigger or softer—I have one like that from militaria.pl, but this one fits perfectly in the side pocket of my pants. So, in short: “The best mat is the one you have with you.” It may sound funny, but if you have to do urgent work in the city, being able to sit on a dirty surface thanks to this mat is like relaxing in a home armchair, especially when the work drags on and you always have the mat tucked away in your pocket.

While assembling my gear in Ad.Green, I also added this mat. At first glance, it could be a bit bigger, but this size is probably intentional. The ability to fold, compress, and attach it to various elements is a big advantage. The price is high, but acceptable on promotion. I recommend it.

I constantly carry it in my backpack, hardly notice it's there. I have the olive version against the coyote background and the color difference is minimal. It's compact, a bit small, but better to have than not. I appreciate that thanks to the closure it can be attached outside the backpack, which saves space inside.

First impression after opening—it seems very small. However, for one person it's sufficient, plus it's lightweight and doesn't take up much backpack space. When folded, it even fits in a small backpack pocket. You can also attach it with the Molle/Pals system and have it at hand. Solidly made from cordura, it will serve for a long time of intensive use.

Very good mat for outdoor use, extremely light and compact. It insulates perfectly, so you don't feel the cold. My wife often uses it because she likes to sit on the ground. I highly recommend it with full confidence.

I chose this product based on the opinions of friends and I am very satisfied with the purchase. I think the chosen color is perfect for forest conditions. Be careful with open flames – a small hole appeared in the outer layer from a spark from a campfire.

I've already bought four of these mats because they are well made, lightweight, and compact. This version fits well with the Helikon Groundhog 10L backpack in adaptive green color. The difference in shades is very minimal and results from different fabrics.

The mat is small, so it's not suited for long periods of sitting, but it's perfect for a short break. Folding it into a cube is a big advantage. It would be great if Helikon offered a larger and thicker version—it would perform even better on hard surfaces.

Great mat from Helikon, protects well from the cold of the ground. When folded, it takes up very little space. It is lightweight yet durable. It can be easily attached to a backpack or belt.

The mat is compact, and the seating area is suitable. However, the folding method could be better thought out—currently, when the bottom gets dirty or wet, folding it causes the dirty part to touch the clean seating side.
