I considered buying this hat for a long time and eventually decided to get it. Inside, there is a mesh lining in a bright orange color—it can serve both as a signaling element and as a pocket. Additionally, there are Velcro patches on the back and top. A thin fleece band is sewn at the forehead. The hat itself is not very deep, but the brim is the right size and not too small. A big advantage is the highly visible, distinctive camouflage pattern.
Helikon Boonie Mk2 PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop Hat - ERDL
Lightweight hat made of 220 g/m2 grammage fabric, reinforced with Rip-Stop weave, which ensures that the fabric will not rip or fray even after local damage. Thanks to the mix of materials and comfortable cut, the hat is ideal for everyday use, as well as for outdoor or survival expeditions.
Rip-Stop weave, Reflective layer
The hat is made from a blend of polyester, cotton and elastane for quick drying and lightweight performance. Thicker Rip-Stop weave threads create a reinforcing mesh that prevents damage from spreading to a larger area.
The inside of the hat is equipped with a reflective layer, which in emergency situations can be used to mark the wearer or signal his position.
Wide brim, ventilation holes, adjustment
The hat has four ventilation holes with a grille to protect against insects. The wide brim provides excellent protection from the sun and rain.
The Mk2 model features a length adjustment cord, which allows the hat to be clipped under the neck, as well as a special loop to attach it to a Helikon Raid sweatshirt.

ERDL Camouflage
The ERDL camouflage, developed by an American research lab in 1948, gained popularity primarily during the Vietnam War in the 1960s, especially among special and reconnaissance units. It served as the foundation for subsequent designs like the globally recognized Woodland and M81. The green-brown color scheme of this camouflage is highly effective in dense vegetation, European deciduous forests, thickets, and mixed woodlands.

The hat is carefully made and fits well, which is standard for Helikon. It's really comfortable to wear. It's a pity there isn't a cap in this camouflage. The product meets expectations; I can confidently recommend it.
-
A perfectly designed modern take on the classic hat – very practical and up-to-date. The price of the Duck Hunter camo version encourages purchase, and I really like the pattern itself. I recommend it!
-
The hat is comfortable and not too big, which is a big plus. It also has great ventilation. It is perfect for hiking in the mountains or during activities in the forest. I definitely recommend it.

Once again, Helikon-Tex products did not disappoint me. The hat has an interesting style. Size XL fits very well on my larger head, although I think it could be a bit deeper. Huge plus for Helikon for high quality and a rich selection of colors, and for Militaria.pl for the fast and efficient delivery – the package arrived within several hours after purchase.

This is my first hat in a long time. It is well made. It has a drawstring at the back of the head so it fits well and won’t fall off. If your size is on the borderline, I recommend choosing the larger one. My head circumference is 56 cm and I chose size M. I bought two hats – one in multicam version, but this one fits better. If someone is hesitating between this hat and the MK1, I recommend choosing this model.
-
The hat is lightweight, comfortable, and functional – it’s perfect for trips, walks, and everyday outdoor activities. The Desert Night Camo pattern camouflages well and suits various terrain conditions, giving the whole look a military style. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a solid and stylish headwear!

The hat is very comfortable, which is especially important in the summer when you sweat. It doesn't squeeze your head, fits well, and looks aesthetically pleasing. Overall, it's a well-thought-out product. In this camouflage pattern, it performs better than the military equipment from the Ministry of National Defense.

The Helikon Boonie Mk2 hat fully met my expectations and perfectly complements a uniform in Rhodesian brushstroke camouflage. I consider it a plus that Helikon developed its own cut instead of copying the American boonie hat. The brim is the perfect width. The chin cord can be easily removed and put back on if needed. Inside, there is a bright orange fabric sewn in that can be used for signaling in emergencies. There are Velcro patches on the back and top for personalization. Great product, I can really recommend it.

The latest hat from Helikon offers improvements over the previous boonie hat model, which have been described in the product description. Additionally, new color variants and camouflage versions have appeared.
-
The boonie has the perfect width, the hat is extremely lightweight, and the Duck Hunter camouflage looks amazing. Helikon did a great job here – in my opinion, even better than the American equivalents, plus it has an internal signaling feature. I definitely recommend it.
-
This is a refreshed version of the previous model – an interesting idea. Introducing this model resulted in a wide range of colors and camouflages; finally, Rhodesian and Pencott Wildwood camo appeared. The price might seem high, but good quality is worth paying for, because cheap things are bought twice.

Great hat for outdoor wear. Effectively protects both the face and neck from the sun. The material and quality of workmanship are really high. Definitely worth trying out.
