Diamond powder is applied to a precision-engineered steel plate with a flawlessly flat surface. The main advantages of diamond whetstone:
- abrasive more durable than carbides in alloy steels,
- the surface shape remains unchanged with wear,

Essential for honing knives crafted from hard and highly wear-resistant modern high-alloy steels. For less advanced steels, it significantly accelerates sharpening.
