A solid spade with considerable weight and durability, fits well in the hand. No wonder similar models were used in trenches decades ago. The only note: you need to sharpen it yourself, but that's typical for new tools.

Excellent entrenching tool! I bought two so I could jump with them into cold water from 30 meters! Very durable – I threw it at various things and nothing happened to it. I also used it as a frying pan for cooking food. It can also be used for chopping trees, and digging is no problem for it.

I definitely recommend it. I bought it for a camping trip, and now I keep it in my car—especially useful in winter when leaving parking spots. For better root cutting, I sharpened it myself.

I bought it for use with a metal detector and it fits perfectly in the case. Works well for digging – its small size is sometimes an advantage, sometimes a drawback. After sharpening, it does an excellent job cutting roots.

This is a classic tool that's worth having in your gear – I recommend it to everyone.
