MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern created in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision, collaborating with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) under the Objective Force Warrior program. The aim was to develop a versatile camouflage pattern effective across diverse terrains and shifting environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern is composed of seven colors, forming gradient transitions between shades of green, brown, and beige. This allows it to dynamically adapt to its surroundings, blending with green hues in forests or with browns and beiges in desert landscapes; it performs exceptionally well in Central and Eastern European settings, particularly in the fall and amongst dry vegetation. MultiCam has achieved global recognition and is utilized by various armed forces and special units. In 2010, it was officially adopted by the US Army for soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also available to civilians, making it a favored choice among military and airsoft enthusiasts.
