Modern UTS (Urban Tactical Shorts) made of high-quality NyCo Rip-Stop material (50% cotton, 50% nylon), which is characterized by high resistance to abrasion and tearing, and is also lighter and dries faster than 100% cotton material.
Thanks to the large number of pockets and their rational arrangement, these shorts are perfect for urban conditions, and will not disappoint during outdoor activities.
An excellent compromise between military and civilian clothing - discreet cut, functionality of combat shorts. Innovative cut, appropriate stitching and fabric of the pants provide above-average freedom of movement and durability.
The pants are equipped with ten pockets:
- two classic ones at hip level having reinforced edges,
- four on the thighs (two wide with a zipper and two narrow with Velcro),
- four on the back (two wide and two narrow ones located inside the wide ones).
Instead of a button, the pants have a wide Velcro allowing adjustment within 6 cm. The waistband of the pants is sewn with an elastic band to improve the fit of the pants to the individual characteristics of the figure. The material above the rear pockets and in the crotch has been reinforced with an additional layer of VersaStretch nylon fabric. The two front belt loops in the lower part have additional loops for attaching, for example, a carabiner.

These are my second pair of shorts from the Helikon series – the first were flex 11, now I opted for the shorter flex 8.5 model. They are comfortable, well-fitted, have lots of practical pockets, and the cargo pockets with zippers are a big plus. The Helikon brand stands for quality.

The shorts are very comfortable and have many functional pockets. The material is sturdy, so it should not wear out too quickly. Indeed, the sizing runs larger than usual – I usually wear M, but here S fits better because they are quite tight.

Not much to write about – the shorts are well sewn, and the pockets are sensibly arranged. They are a bit shorter than the UTS 11 model.

The shorts are very well made; both the material and the seams are of very good quality. I recommend them. The sizing seems slightly different from the 11'' PenCott SandStorm version (there I wore 3XL, here I had to take 4XL).
