Helikon Swagman Roll Climashield Apex Poncho with sleeping bag function - PenCott WildWood

I purchased the Helikon-Tex Swagman Roll (Climashield Apex) cover/poncho in PenCott WildWood camouflage, and I can confidently say it was an excellent choice. What I really like about it: Dual functionality: it can be used both as a lightweight sleeping bag/insulating jacket and as a protective poncho. The material — nylon and Climashield Apex filling — provides really good thermal insulation even in damp conditions. Neat format when folded (29 × 19 cm) and still quite light (approx. 762 g), so easy to take on a trip. Well-thought-out design — front zip, pocket, DWR (water-repellent) coating — which increases comfort in the field. PenCott WildWood camouflage — both functional and aesthetic (if you care about an outdoor look).

Nice color. Easy to put on and to roll up and store in the cover. The material is not thick, so it's more suitable for lighter, cooler nights; as a solo sleeping bag it might be too thin – it's better as an addition to another sleeping bag. The pocket is also nice. The price now finally matches the quality and character of the product; previously, in my opinion, it was definitely too high.

I thought for a long time about whether to buy it because I wasn't sure if it would be useful. In the end, a promotion tempted me and I don't regret it – it works great as a summer sleeping bag, and now I carry it all the time in my trunk. I recommend it!

A versatile product, carefully made. It works well as additional insulation on a camping trip, and on warmer nights it can replace a sleeping bag. I recommend it as an extra, but not as the only solution for all conditions. It's worth waiting for a promotion if you're not in a hurry.

WORTH EVERY PENNY SPENT. I bought it for myself, and I'm thinking of getting one for the rest of the family and another version without the Climatshield for wearing around the house on cold days. It's warm, but it doesn't cause excessive sweating.

This is really a warm poncho from Helikon in tiger stripe; it's one of my better purchases this year. Its universal use at this price is a big advantage. It works great as an underquilt for a hammock. I often use it as a blanket on cool evenings. I highly recommend this product.

This is a great item to clip to your backpack just in case. During a break in sunny weather, it serves as a blanket, and in the evening it insulates well; in the rain, it works as a poncho with good ventilation. Unfortunately, as a sleeping bag for tall people, it is a bit too short.

As a poncho, this product wouldn't have caught my attention, but its versatility convinced me to buy it. It truly offers many usage possibilities: poncho, insulation mat, sleeping bag, blanket, and underquilt for a hammock. I haven't yet checked how it will work with longer hammocks. As a poncho, it is very warm, and the material is pleasant to the touch. At this moment, the only drawback is the high price, but aside from that, I definitely recommend it.

Fantastic product! It can serve as a poncho, sleeping bag, blanket, or insulation for a cool hammock or cot. The "tiger stripe" camo version has the advantage that the inside is black—dirt is less visible, and during the day the black interior can serve as an alarm color since it contrasts much more clearly with the green of the forest than the olive interiors of other models.

There is a growing trend in bushcraft to reduce pack weight, which encourages choosing multi-functional gear. The Helikon Swagman is a perfect example of such a product. This is my first Swagman. The Pencott Wildwood camouflage works great in the forest. Although products for everything usually don't live up to expectations, this model is a pleasant surprise. Its versatility is a huge asset – it can be used as a hammock underquilt, jacket, or sleeping bag. Sure, when considering each function separately, there are better options, but as an all-around piece of gear, the Swagman is unmatched. With small carabiners, I use it as an underquilt; it also works while hiking – it doesn’t interfere with wearing a backpack – and as a sleeping bag, though it lacks a strip on the zipper, so I felt colder drafts. The Climashield insulation and overall build quality are at a high level, no complaints.
