Helikon Scout MK2 Fire-starting Set
The Scout Mk2 is a compact and lightweight survival kit that features a ferrocerium fire starter, striker, tinder made from cotton, and solid fuel. It enables fire starting in various conditions without relying on matches or a lighter. The fire starter is capable of igniting a camping stove, gas burner, or open flame for warmth or cooking needs. Ferrocerium Flint
A ferrocerium rod operates by scraping the rod forcefully with the sharp edge of the striker. During this action, the cerium present in the alloy oxidizes and ignites. A single strike generates sparks reaching temperatures of approximately 3000 deg. C, capable of igniting dry cotton tinder even under adverse conditions like pouring rain or sub-zero temperatures.

This is already my next purchase of this set. I was satisfied with the previous one, I taught my friends how to make fire, and in the end, I gave it as a gift. Such a set should be in every backpack.

Small size, but produces sparks without any problems. Less experienced people might have some minor difficulties. Nice box, you can always have some spare tinder on hand.

The set is okay for me. Although it’s small, you can easily create sparks with it. People with less experience might need some practice. The box is an additional advantage, useful for a small tinder supply.

Practical box with fire starter and tinder. The downside is the striker, which produces sparks poorly. The upside is the small size of the set. The tinder lights a fire effectively.

The striker is poor quality, very bad at creating sparks. The rod is fine, the fuel produces a large flame and lasts about 15 minutes, with almost no smell or smoke – it’s just a shame there are only two cubes. The box looks good, but because of the poor striker and in comparison with other options, I only give it 3 stars.

The set is very practical and well packed. I added a lighter and more cotton pads. The fire starter deserves praise for its quality. I sincerely recommend it.

This fire starter makes sparks perfectly, it’s better than the Mil-Tec version because of the size of the tin. Advantages: waterproof, includes tinder, fuel, and a survival tin.

Great box with fire starter and tinder, it's just a shame it doesn't have a gasket for waterproofing. However, for this price, there's nothing to complain about.
