A very good compromise between wind protection and breathability. I was skeptical, but after a few days of use I'm positively surprised – the fleece breathes well and blocks wind effectively. The large chest pocket even fits a full tang knife. The longer cut works well with a backpack. The cons are the lack of mesh under the zippers in the armpits and the finish is a bit stiff.
Helikon Classic Army Windblocker Fleece Jacket - Black
A cozy fleece sweatshirt featuring a windproof and breathable membrane, making it perfect for layering under a jacket or wearing as standalone outerwear. Cordura material reinforcements are used in areas that are especially susceptible to wear and tear. The tall stand-up collar conceals a hood, which serves as head protection on windy or rainy days.
Warm fleece - thermal comfort
Crafted from 380 g/m2 fleece material, the sweatshirt offers excellent thermal insulation, breathability, and wind resistance, making it perfect for outdoor activities.
Windblock membrane, 8000 g/m2 breathability
Research by The American Material Test Association verified that the Windblocker membrane boasts a breathability of 8000 g/m2, enabling it to efficiently draw sweat and excess heat away from the body.
4 practical pockets
The sweatshirt features four zippered pockets:
- two pockets at the hips
- a chest pocket that includes a port for a headphone cable
- a pocket on the sleeve positioned above the cuff
Ventilation and elastic cuffs with Velcro adjustment
Special zippered panels under the arms enhance ventilation during intense workouts, facilitating rapid heat and moisture dissipation to prevent overheating and boost thermal comfort.
The sweatshirt's sleeves feature adjustable cuffs that can be secured to the wrists with Velcro. This allows the cuffs to fit snugly against the wrists for cold protection or to be loosened for improved ventilation.
Two-way YKK zipper with windproof strip
A two-way YKK zipper, resistant to low temperatures, water and dirt, is used to fasten the sweatshirt. A wide sealing strip protects against the wind, and the ability to partially unzip the zipper from the bottom allows free use of pants pockets or equipment worn on the belt.
Concealed hood in high stand-up collar
The adjustable stand-up collar offers effective protection for the neck and face against wind and cold. The hidden hood adds an extra layer of head protection in severe weather conditions.

I hunted for this fleece jacket for a long time. Finally, there was a promotion for my size (L – perfect for 185 cm, 97 kg). Worth every penny. As usual, Helikon sews perfectly. The fleece is very warm, which is felt right after putting it on. It has many pockets, all zippers work flawlessly. The hood can be tucked away, and the extra vents increase functionality. This will be my go-to choice for fall and winter.

GREAT FLEECE. After three years of wearing the Patriot, I decided to switch to this model and I highly recommend it – it heats wonderfully and protects against the wind. Initially, it's slightly stiff when worn directly over a t-shirt, but after a while it becomes very comfortable.

Fleece, or rather it’s already a jacket, thanks to the windstopper – very nice piece. Fits well, size L fits me perfectly (176 cm, 120 cm chest, 98 kg). I wear three thin layers underneath and it's comfortable – not tight, but also not too loose. You can move freely, and in near zero temperatures outside, it's very warm. During more intense activity it might be too much, but I haven't tested that personally. As long as it doesn't blow too hard or rain, it works great. I recommend it.
-
The only thing you might complain about is the sizing; otherwise, the fleece works perfectly. I recommend the purchase – it serves great as an extra layer under a jacket or as a light jacket for warmer days.

As others have mentioned, you need to break this fleece in a little because it's stiff at first and the sleeves are a bit too long. It insulates heat very well. The collar could be a bit wider. The downside is the underarm vents—they spread too wide when opened, as there's no mesh. Overall, for this price, I have no major complaints.

The fleece looks very nice. It has a great fit and a beautiful red lining. I have several Helikon fleeces in size L, but I had to exchange this one for XL because it was too small. The fleece has a windblocker membrane; I tested it with the Helikon Patriot model on a windy day. I only had an undershirt and a thin fleece on. In comparison, the Patriot was much warmer, softer and more comfortable, whereas the Classic Army windblocker was stiff, and despite the membrane, I still felt cold. It felt as if I was wrapped in cold metal.

Great fleece. I've tested many Helikon fleeces, and this one is definitely the best. All winter it replaced my thick jacket – I wasn't cold even in low temperatures. On warmer days, you can open the side zippers for better ventilation. Lots of spacious pockets with compartments. Very effective against cold and wind. Recommended!

Fleece made of very good quality materials and meets all expectations. The only downside is that although the company is Polish, production takes place in China. It’s a pity Polish companies don't do everything themselves—part of the money goes abroad. Buying a Chinese fleece, I’d pay much less.

The fleece is fantastic. For a person who is 173 cm tall and weighs 75 kg, size S is perfect. For people with similar measurements who want to wear the fleece over a thicker sweatshirt, I recommend choosing size M. For a t-shirt or thin sweatshirt, S will be fine and will serve well as a thermal layer, etc. Definitely worth considering.

Product is as described and worth its price. The fleece is warm and protects well from the wind. It’s comfortable, practical, and the lining is an elegant color. I am satisfied with my purchase and recommend it. Five stars.

Excellent windblocker, high quality, but not the same as the classic army: it lacks Velcro like other MON models, Helikon added a red lining! I intended to use it at work, but it will probably work better in the mountains!
-
Very warm fleece, works even in heavy frost together with thermal underwear and a shirt. Lots of pockets, materials, and workmanship at a high level. The windblocker really works, wind doesn’t get through. I had to exchange the size for a bigger one because of the sleeve length (I had a similar issue with a Helikon shirt – I must have longer arms than the standard).
-
The product is definitely worth its price, especially if you get it on sale. It protects well against wind, has functional ventilation openings and many pockets, and is carefully sewn. The membrane’s breathability is a bit lower compared to the original windstopper, but a jacket with a better membrane costs two or even three times as much. Overall, a great product.

I previously had a fleece from the older series, it was indestructible and protected very well against wind and light rain. Unfortunately, the current version is worse—the material pills quickly, and after washing, the back looks like the layers stuck together. The Velcro on the sleeves stopped working. I agree that the sizing is a bit smaller compared to other Helikon models.
